Capsule info - What are lumens?
By definition, 1 lumen corresponds to the luminous flux emitted in a solid angle. A lumen is a photometric unit, just like the candela from which it is derived; it is based on the human perception of light using the spectral luminous efficiency function. In simple terms, lumens are a unit of measurement of the total amount of visible light (by the human eye) emitted by a light source. To project the same light force as a conventional 60W bulb, an LED lamp needs to be about 800 - 850 lumens.

Climbing shoes are new at Black Diamond this year.

In order to develop their prototype climbing shoes, they partnered with Butora, a Korea-based company with extensive experience in the rubber industry and the development of specialized materials for climbing. This partnership allowed engineers to experiment and adjust comfort to the final product on the market.
The rubber used in Momentum and Aspect is molded for optimum consistency and performance. But there are differences to remember: the Momentum's 4.3mm rubber is designed to last, while the Aspect's 4.3mm rubber is specially designed for edging.
