    Hoka One One

Information capsule on pronation, what is this about us?

Pronation is one of the natural movements of the body members. When walking and running, this term refers to the unfolding of the foot inwards to distribute the shocks produced by the contact with the ground. All strides are not equal in terms of pronation.

    - A supine stride (insufficient pronation) requires reinforced cushioning to avoid shock-related injuries.

    - A universal stride (or neutral) adapts to various shoes

    - A pronator (or surprise) stride requires shoes with structured quilting or corrective support.

Points of impact with the ground: the pronation being weak or non-existent, the external part of the heel strikes the ground at a more marked angle. The shock wave is distributed widely throughout the calf.

Propulsion: pressure on the smallest toes of the outside of the foot.

Injuries: Plantar fasciitis, shin splints, sprained ankle, back pain, etc.

    DETERMINE YOUR TYPE OF STRIDE

    VIDEO ANALYSIS OF THE STRIDE

The runner's feet are filmed as he runs on a treadmill. The video is analyzed in detail and idle by a specialist from a specialist store, podiatrist or physiotherapist, who can then explain the type of stride.

    CHECK WEAR ON YOUR SHOES

    Supine stride
Wear is concentrated on the outside of the soles.
If you put your running shoes on a flat surface, you may notice a slight deformation of the buttress to the outside.

    Universal Stride
The wear of the soles is in the shape of S. It starts from the external part (side) of the heel and ends at the big toe.
If you put your running shoes on a flat surface, you probably will not see deformation of the buttress.

    Pronouncing stride (or overpronation)
The wear is particularly marked on the inner part of the heel and on the level of the plantar cushion, in particular, the big toe.
If you put your running shoes on a flat surface, you may notice a slight deformation of the buttress inwards.

What sets this brand apart from these competitors?

Originally, Hoka One One a French company created by Salomon designers who wanted to put on the market a new product out of the ordinary thought to limit the impact of the race on the body. However, it did not pass the stage of sketch at Salomon who did not believe in the future of a product offering maximum support. The designers who developed a prototype perceived the size of the market that the future company could earn and therefore left the offices of Solomon to start their own journey. The group that owns Hoka One One, DECKERS, also manufactures UGG, Teva (a brand similar to Chaco) and Sanuk. Hoka One One literally means "Fly over the earth".

Innovative and even revolutionary in the racing industry, against the current of the minimalist trend (barefoot), Hoka has gained popularity in a lightning-fast way since its emergence. For most people, it's  I like / I do not like during the first race. Although Hoka was somewhat ridiculed for their original look, with an oversize cushion on the midsole and a wide design, the shoes were almost caricatural. But they are so light - lighter than many of their competitors' traditional shoes. Some marathon runners or pro runners have adopted the brand, which has legitimized its technology. Many Ironman participants swear by Hoka and their "sect" is expanding every year.

Unlike Mizuno, which only produces one color per style, Hoka chooses bright and varied colors for each model. According to the representative, the last company to defeat remains Nike with regard to the running shoes, illustrating the market share and the enthusiasm aroused by Hoka. What is important to remember from their primary objective is this: to minimize the impact on the ground and to offer excellent stability of the foot, structure and support.

    Bondi 5 Weight 8.5oz / Heel-toe drop 4mm

The maximum sole is optimal for running on hard surfaces (sidewalks, treadmills, etc.). They have increased the breathability and toe box for the fifth edition. It's also a sensible choice for long distance runners who want to minimize the damage caused by the impact of the race.

    Any new technology this year?

Flexible EVA that absorbs the shape of the ground, recessed sole that can be recommended to correct pronation cases. No seams inside which allows to wear them barefoot without risking burns or irritation.

The curve of the shoe (sole), only 50% of the shoe touches the ground when deposited. This bend in the front helps with the impulse, you notice a feeling of rolling forward, thus reducing fatigue in the legs by minimizing the pressure load.

How long is the warranty offered for? What does it cover?

The HOKA warranty is for shoes less than one year from the date of purchase. It applies to defects in workmanship and materials. All items returned to HOKA that were purchased more than one year ago will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
